do you dream a lot?

I DO! Almost every night I have a dream -- sometimes scary, sometimes a continuation (even a variation) of a previous dream, etc, etc. I would like to keep a dream journal but I find the idea kinda scary, hihi

be careful with your words

Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. Most importantly the last sentence!
.
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. WHEN YOU SAY THINGS IN ANGER, THEY LEAVE A SCAR JUST LIKE THIS ONE. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, THE WOUND IS STILL THERE." A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.
.
"Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us."
.
GUYS, YOU ARE MY FRIENDS AND I AM HONORED!
.
AND IF IN ANYWAY, I HAVE WRONGED U, PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR LEAVING A HOLE...

US election primaries

I really like watching the current US presidential primaries happening in key cities of America these days (Iowa, New Hampshire, etc). I love their idea of just fielding two candidates of opposing ideologies (no middle ground here) to run for the presidential race. But first, before the final two are selected, the presidential hopefuls will run against people from their own party, i.e. for Democrats its largely Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. This part is the PRIMARY, and only selected states are chosen to vote. In Iowa, Obama won while in New Hampshire, Clinton won (reportedly because she cried and got the voters' sympathy, lol). The US presidential election will be on November and I hope by that time, the US economy will be back in full swing! I earn dollars online and it really sucks that $1 is only P40 now! Apparently it's not because our peso is getting stronger but because the US economy is experiencing recession. Tsk!

What The Holidays Mean to You
For you, the holidays are about emotional connections and bonds. You are happiest being around those you love.

You celebrate the holidays in a natural style. Homemade gifts are your favorite, and you can't stand imitation Christmas trees or wreaths

During the holidays, you feel happily busy. There's so much do to and not a lot of time to do it. But you enjoy every minute of your holiday chores.

You think the holidays should be nostalgic and sweet. The holidays bring out your inner child.

Your best holiday memories are of childhood foods and traditions. You secretly still wish you believed in Santa Claus.

Golden Globes Nominations

December 05, 2007

mark your calendars!

Blogger's Unite
.
This coming December 17 is "Acts of Kindness" day as initiated by BlogCatalog and supported by my favorite company PayPerPost =) So how does this project work? On December 17 (Monday), all bloggers are encouraged to perform a random act of kindness, then blog about it. Submit your post and you may win the highly coveted 8gb iTouch! Doing something good never had a reward as great as this, LOL! Here's a snippet from the official site:
.
"The Acts of Kindness bloggers unite challenge aims at putting a human face on bloggers who are responsible for so much good in the world. The goal is to expose their kindness and generosity as well as serve as an example to non-bloggers that volunteering for a charity, donating to a cause, or simply doing something kind for another person has a ripple effect around the world. Maybe 20,000 bloggers, vloggers, and photographers will make a difference."

what is a blog?

The term "weblog" was coined by US blogger Jorn Barger on December 17, 1997. He used the term to describe the new kind of website that was emerging at the time that was a sort of an annotated bookmarks list available for public viewing, a “log” of journeys around the fledging web with links and commentaries. The short form, "blog", was coined by his colleague Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase wee blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May of 1999. According to Wikipedia: "A blog is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog."

my take on Chikai's tag =)

Credits: Annie’s Little Footprints
.

Snagged this thought-provoking tag from Cherry Rose. Nice one gurl! =) My answer? WORLD PEACE! Na-ah, joke! Hehe! Seriously, I would make a cure for cancer and AIDS. These are two of the most serious diseases known to the world today. The sad thing is, it even affects innocent people and kids =( Anyway, on a smaller scale, I'd say that I'd make a website from scratch. Html, Java and all that technical stuff. Hehe!

November 19, 2007

my first WEB AWARD!

And this is courtesy of the Cherry Rose, thanks so much sis! =)

I'm now passing this to Pia, Sophia (Happy birthday Sof!) and Grace. Keep on blogging guys! Pia, I know you're currently in HK so post your award when you get back k?? Enjoy HK and don't forget the pasalubongs, hehe =)

BLOG tag from Cherry Rose!

1. How long have you been blogging?
About 5 years, on and off. I started blogging summer of 2002 via PITAS.com (now defunct) when I was in HK coz I wanted to share my activities there without using email. You can now only view my first blog via the screenshots I took before it went down. However when I entered med school, I stopped blogging coz of the lack of time. I started back again in 2004 via http://cutieissa.blogspot.com (now http://BestDollarEarners.info) but I stopped there when Globe (yes, the mobile carrier) offered G-blogs where I can blog from my phone. Most of my 2004 and some 2005 posts are in http://g-blogs.com/cutieissa =)
.
Parang nobela na to ah.. And I'm not finished yet, hehe! In late 2005, I began conceptualizing a food blog coz I noticed the food scene in Davao was blossoming. Finally, in Feb 2006, Tongue Temptations (TT) went live in Friendster Blogs. This is where the original TT was "hosted". It's now in http://TongueTemptations.us ..After I graduated from med school last year and internship this year, I began updating my blogs regularly. This has become Quick Bytes and I also set up a mobile blog at http://melissasolito.blogspot.com ..For the list of all my other sites, go HERE =) BOW! Human na jud! Hehe
.
2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
Refer to my answer above for what inspired me. I don't have any mentors, it's all ME!
.
3. Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?
I'm a writer at heart and blogging was my means to unleash my creative side without using paper. It was not for fun, it was to feed my soul. When I did my food blog, it was to disseminate info about the latest foodie place in Davao (now, there are many bloggers doing that). It was really never for fun to me, lol! As for money, I stumbled on it after my internship last July. And I'm just glad that I can earn by blogging =)
.
4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
> I get to learn new stuff esp. techie stuff and the latest news
> Got to make new friends =)
> And now, I got to earn as well! What more could I ask for? Yeeha!
.
5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE within the online world.
> Internet Addiction! --> tama jud ka Che! If wala koy kaagaw sa PC, asa man ko matulog ba! I'll go online forever and ever, hehe
> I notice I can't seem to finish something! I start an article but then I go surf, start another *whatever* again.. repeat.. Going crazy!!! Lol! It's like I have an ADHD/ADD
> I go crazy when there's no internet! Wahh! Think of all the opps & tasks I missed! Then there's my online employers waiting for my articles.. Sigh!

mobile blogging problems

Anybody here who photo blogs via their Sony Ericsson phone? I've been having problems posting from my SE k800i phone to my Blogger account, and I need help coz I really don't know what's wrong. This has been going on for 2 days already =( My last post was still when I was at the beach last weekend. Sigh.. I really hate when technology fails with no solution in sight!

are you a feminist?

Then take this fascinating survey from dNeero! It’s about FEMINISM as you might have guessed =) So, to all of the gals (and guys also) out there, answer this survey and let’s see if you still have misconceptions about this controversial movement. You can view my answers by clicking the mini-arrow head at the mid portion. Have fun answering!

November 13, 2007

got my medschool yearbook!

Oooh, I'm so happy! After just one year of graduating from medical school, I got our yearbook already! I'm so psyched to browse through it! =) Thank god it only took one year to finish it up. My high school yearbook took nearly 7 years! And my college yearbook? Don't even ask! I don't think it will ever be printed, huhu! Paging Maita, Jenny, and all the others in the editorial board -- what's up guys?? =( Anyhoo, thanks Ruchie for meeting me up to give the yearbook. Salamat din sa mga chika te, hehe! See you all soon and God bless your medical careers! =)

November 10, 2007

beach bums

It seems that I can't get enough of beaches these days. After Boracay, and after just one day of arriving in Davao, my family went to our beachside property in Samal. Then later today, I'll be going to Samal with my boyfriend's family. Man, I'm getting DARKer and darker with all the sun exposure I'm get from playing in the beach. I can't resist the sand and clear waters kasi! Hay! But then, who am I to complain? At least I have plenty of time to be a beach bum right now, hehe! Love it! =)

November 08, 2007

sleeping time!

For some reason, I'm always in the mood to nap during mid-afternoons these days. It's funny coz when I was young, I would thwart all the adults' attempts to have me take my afternoon nap. I prefer to play all day long, rest not needed, lol! However, I noticed lately that I'm growing fond of sleeping during afternoons which led me to sleeping late in the evening (or very early in the morning). Today, I missed my nap so I'm sleepy already. I'll just post one last time after this then I'll go to sleep.. Good night guys and sweetdreams! =)

Ode to Bora

This is an original poem made by moi. As you all know I went to Boracay with my family last weekend, and I must say the place inspired me greatly. Hence this poem. I hope I was able to capture Bora's essence. Enjoy the poem guys! =)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

OCEAN ESCAPADE

Azure, fair skies.. Nary a cloud in sight
My eyes reflecting the glorious sun's might.
Grand day to die, to live, to experience --
Wild nature's flawless bounties & blessings!

Winds sweeping my tangled, ebony hair
My nose assaulted by tangy sea air
Waves tickling my feet entwined in seaweeds
My body impressed in ardent sand, bliss!

By the virgin white sand beach I frolicked
Crystal waters beckoned; I followed, meek..
I swam, I dove; embraced, kissed, loved the sea
This is the life! I basked in its glory..

Ephemeral this ecstasy may be
In my mundane life, this is heavenly.
My serene, joyous soul couldn't ask for more
My body agrees, though sunburned and sore..

quiz time!

I’m Mother Teresa! WOW! If this were true, my family would be so proud me! Or maybe shocked, hehe! After all, I’m an aloof person who is realistic and practical about society’s problems. I mean, why give free food and stuff like what Mother Teresa did in Calcutta? Isn’t it better to teach those people how to earn or empower themselves than just give them freebies? Yup, that’s the “real” me speaking. I’m not cruel really, just practical. And Mother Teresa doesn’t just fit me, lol!

IZEA!

Nearly a month ago, I blogged about the renaming of PayPerPost (PPP) here. PPP is a get-paid-to blog website which has over 80,000 bloggers and 11,000 advertisers now. Ted Murphy, the CEO of PPP posted here that there will be a lot of changes in PPP's system thus the need to rename. And finally, the cat's out in the bag! PPP will be officially part of IZEA.com and will become IZEA.com after the alpha and beta testing are done. Colleen, the top earner in PPP, got the scoop here. Below is a super cool screenshot of IZEA.com =) Love it Ted! And for those not yet into PPP, you can sign up here. I already earned about $450 from them since late August. Sweet!

MIA!

For updates of my life, you can go to my mobile blog (yes, it's ME!) here. I'm currently in Makati right now with limited access to internet (only dial-up at 56 kbps!!!) so I won't be updating this blog as much as I did previously. My mobile blog, on the other hand, would be updated daily. Not much to do here except take pictures and blog about it, lol! Later, I would be meeting my highschool friends that I haven't seen in a long while. Can't hardly wait! =)

.
P.S. MIA = missing in action. I'm not paging for a girl named Mia, lol

October 24, 2007

finished packing!

Finally finished packing for my R&R trip to Manila and Boracay. I'll be gone for only 12 days but I felt I packed enough clothes to last me a month, lol! =) Right now I'm finishing up my blogging commitments then it's time to relax before I go to the airport. Bye Davao! See you in November 4! Hehe!

October 23, 2007

leaving on a {jet} plane

Tomorrow, I'll be going to Makati with my youngest bro. My parents and my other brother have been living there for about a year now, and it's our first time to "visit" them. Happy! =) My only concern is the lack of internet connection in their place. How am I gonna do my online work?? Wahh! $$$ down the drain, tsk tsk! But despite the possible income loss, I'm excited to tour Luzon once again! Last time I was there was after my college graduation, about 5 years ago. Too long! If you wanna stay updated with my adventures, go to http://melissasolito.blogspot.com {yes, it's ME!}. Even without internet, I can blog there through my SE k800i phone. I'll try to post pictures there everyday =)

who wears the pants in your relationship?

I’m missing Labsie right now, so to stave off the loneliness, I took some LOVE quizzes about our relationship =) Here’s a fun one about who leads your relationship. And guess what? Labsie and I both wear the pants in our relationship! People may see me as the dominant personality, but I tell you, Labsie is even more domineering. Muhaha! Gibisto pa bitaw ;p Love u Labs! Mwahh!
.

Both of You Wear the Pants
You and your guy seem to have stuck the perfect power balance. It's not that you don't disagree - it's just that you've learned how to compromise well. You're both mature enough to know that you can't always get your way... And usually, you're both adult enough to reach an agreement - even if that sometimes means giving in a little.

What do you think guys? Or rather, what would you want me to give away? And no, I'm not kidding, lol! =)
.
As for my other blogs, I still haven't finished transferring all my food posts here to my new food blog at Tongue Temptations. Sigh.. One day, I'm really gonna finish all the loose ends over there. As for Issa's Dollar Earners, I added two new revenue sources. Check out the widgets from WidgetBucks and PayAds on the topmost portion of my blogpost area. And lastly, my mobile blog at yes, it's ME! It's doing quite well actually. In fact, it's the second most updated blog next to this one here =) Check out my Samal (Hof Gorei Resort) entries there!

MAKATI bombing!

I can't believe this! Mere four days before my brother and I will go to Makati, a bomb exploded in one of its prominent malls! About 2pm today (October 19, 2007), an explosion was noted in the lobby of Glorietta 2. Officials, at first, where not sure whether it was a bomb or an LPG tank that caused the explosion. There are now 8 dead people with more than 80+ wounded. Here's the latest news (10pm) from GMA:
.
Mall blast kills 8; Police says not LPG, may be ‘a bomb’

At least eight people were killed while at least 100 others were injured after an explosion of still undetermined origin rocked a Makati City shopping mall at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The police on site had earlier traced the blast to an LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) tank but Director Gen. Avelino Razon Jr, PNP chief, said that an assessment by ground commanders showed that what exploded could be "a bomb."

"Sa assessment ng ground commander hindi LPG. Hindi pa natin masabi – it could be a bomb, pero wala pa kaming ebidensiya," Razon said.

Police Director Geary Barias chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said initial information showed that the explosion emanated from the Luk Yuen Noodle House at the first level of the Glorietta 2 shopping mall.

He said it was apparently an "accidental explosion" of a liquefied petroleum gas tank but added that "we are still verifying it."

Barias said the PNP Bomb Data Center has sent a team to the site to inspect the area. Asked if the incident was connected to any terrorist activity Barias said: "Di pa malaman ang koneksyon nito pero initial info namin is LPG blast (We still don't know if it's connected but our initial information is it's an LPG blast)."

However, dzBB radio quoted shopping mall security guards as saying that the blast actually emanated from a nearby delivery area.

The bridge way which connects Glorietta 2 to the Park Square shopping mall sustained heavy damage, the report said.

The Luk Yuen restaurant which is situated near the Park Square bus and jeepney terminal was hit by fire in September last year.

Metro Manila police spokesman Supt. Rodel Sermonia said three fatalities were "killed on the spot."
.
Fatalities, injuries

The Makati Medical Center (MMC) has admitted as many as 42 people who were rushed from the Glorietta 2 shopping mall which was hit by the explosion.

A nurse interviewed by dzBB radio said no less than 30 people were in the hospital but could not comment on the extent of their injuries. A separate report said about 25 people were rushed to the Ospital ng Makati.

Alfie Reyes, corporate spokesman of mall owner Ayala Land, said "roughly about a dozen people were injured with the possibility of some fatalities."

He added: "We will extend assistance to all of the victims and if any of their families wish to reach out to us we will do so (and help them)."

Reyes added the mall area has been "evacuated" and that all of the victims have been taken out of the area.
.
Chaos, fear

The explosion created a thick cloud of dust near Glorietta 2 and forced the closure of the Glorietta and Park Square 2 malls and Landmark supermarket.

An eyewitness told GMANews.TV that it sounded like a powerful firecracker blast and then a thudding sound was heard like that of a ceiling that had collapsed. Shoppers scampered out of the mall, some of them crying while police agents rushed in.

The explosion was heard near the Glorietta 2 mall from across the Landmark shopping center near Ayala Avenue in the financial district of Makati City. There were unconfirmed reports of injured persons.

A second eyewitness told radio dzBB that he saw smoke coming out of a building. It sounded like the explosion occurred inside or near one of the establishments.

Mike Ochosa an analyst for Solar Sports who was inside the mall at the time said he was going out of the mall toward the parking lot when he heard the explosion.

Ochosa described the explosion as similar to lightning but muffled. He said he saw shoppers some of them panicking run out of the mall.

"I heard something like thunder but muffled inside the building. Then people were running out. There was smoke people running out and police rushing in," he said.

He said the location of the explosion was near a department store at the side of Pasay Road. - GMANews.TV

National Thank You Day!

.

Do you say “thank you” to --
…the members of your family and your friends?
…your helpers and family drivers for helping you in your everyday activities?
…the barista at your favorite coffee shop for getting your orders right?     …salesladies after assisting you with your purchase?
…taxi drivers and tricycle drivers for bringing you safely to your destination?
…do you even say “thank you” at all?

.
If you answered “NO” to even one of these questions, then we have a problem. We assume it’s okay that people drop everything to help us out. We expect friends to sacrifice their souls to the devil to get what we want. But when we already have what we want and they’ve lost their souls, how do we repay their act of kindness? We don’t. Because they’re our friends. Because they work for us. Because they’re supposed to.
.
It’s a plague on the civilized world – etiquette and proper conduct have been thrown out the window. And you wonder why our lot’s going to the dogs. Well, then, what can we do about it? It’s simple, really. Start by saying “Thank You” -- say it with a smile; say it like you mean it and it will come naturally. And if you’re still finding it difficult to say it, here’s something that will make it easier: Celebrate National Thank You Day on October 20 at the SM Mall of Asia. Yes, boys and girls, October 20, 2007 is the 1st National Thank You Day so join in the party later tonight! And, don't forget, say thank you to all those who helped you =)

To all Employees:
.
Effective September 2007

.
Dress Code
1. It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a pay raise.
2. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a pay raise.
3. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a pay raise.

.
Sick Days
We will no longer accept a doctor's certificate as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

.
Holiday Days
Each employee will receive 104 personal leave a year. They are called Saturday & Sunday.

.
Compassion Leave
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

.
Toilet Use
1. Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the cubicles.
2. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the cubicle door will open, and your picture will be taken.
3. After your second offence, your picture will be posted on the company notice board under the "Chronic Offenders" category.
4. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.

.
Lunch Break
1. Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more so that they can look healthy.
2. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.
3. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

.
Thank you for your loyalty to our company. Remember we are an employer of choice and we are here to provide a positive employment experience.

Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

do you believe in astrology?

You are 67% Cancer
How Cancer Are You?
.
I may be logical and all but I strongly believe that we are all molded from a certain number of prototype personalities. Have you ever wondered why people who share the same astrological signs almost have the same basic personality? They only differ because of the experiences they underwent, and their reaction to it. Anyway, I have 4 close friends who share my Cancer sign. One is super moody and very sensitive, she is also the most artistic. The other is outgoing but still very sensitive and has a great need for family ties. Me? I’m somewhere in between. I used to be very moody but not anymore. I’m still sensitive though. Hehe! =)

QUICK BYTES!!!

If you're an avid follower of my blog (is there a follower?? lol), you might have noticed I changed its name. This blog has been with me for more than 2 years and my intention was that it will be a food blog. And it has been so until last month. But recently (I'm sure you've noticed) most of my posts were about wonderful websites and online lifestyle. Food posts were as rare as the blue moon. So, to fix it all up, I transferred my food blog here: TongueTemptations.us (screenshot below) and...
.
Ttnew
.
...I renamed this blog Quick Bytes.. [..for a better online life!] =) The old food posts here will remain but I will also transfer it to the new home of Tongue Temptations (TT). All future foodie posts will be found in the new home of TT. I can't wait to blog about food again! I have sooo much to share with you guys so bookmark TT's new url k?? See you there!

germs galore!

OMG!!! I can’t believe this! According to this quiz, there are about 2,561,580 germs on my keyboard right now! That's equivalent to the number of germs on 512 toilet seats. Ughh!!! =( No one to blame but myself.. I rarely clean our keyboard. Umm, maybe, once in a blue moon. I can’t even remember the last time I cleaned it! Tsk!

me? a vampire?

You Could Not Be a Vampire
Sorry, but you're not just cut out for flesh eating, turning into a bat, and living forever. But that's okay. The sight of blood turns your stomach... without even thinking of drinking it. And while you definitely would never be a vampire, you're exactly the type of frail prey Dracula wannabe's crave. Maybe it's time to arm yourself with a cross and some nasty garlic breath! What you would like best about being a vampire: The raw power (though you wouldn't admit it to anyone). What you would like least about being a vampire: The whole killing thing
Could You Be a Vampire?
.
The quiz says I can't be a vampire! Wahh! But I wanna be one! I want to live forever (so long as my beauty and vitality is preserved, lol) and I want to feel the power of being above all humans! Lol, I sound like Hitler already :p This is still part of my Halloween quizzes fascination. Go to BlogThings.com and share your results with us!

power me up! =)

My body is producing 201 watts! This is 20% LESS wattage than the average person. But hey, I can light up 2 light bulbs and 50 iPods! Hehe! I could even power 1 Xbox 360. However, it would take 5 of me to keep a refrigerator running. If that’s the case, I’ll stick to iPods then. Lol!

how scary are you?

It’s Halloween time! So, I took the time off on love and dating quizzes and instead, I took a quiz on “how scary” I am. Hehe! As you can see, I’m as scary as an angry kitty. Watch out for my sharp claws, rrrr! Lol! =)

You Are a Little Scary
You've got a nice edge to you. Use it.

still sick..

With no one but myself to blame though. I didn't take any antipyretics (for fever), cough or cold medicines, not even headache treatment. I endured super warm body temps, roaring headaches, and stuffy/runny nose =( Maybe I'm a masochist deep inside, I just wanna feel all the pain down to my bones. Or maybe, I'm just your typical doctor, afraid to take meds for some reason or another, lol! I feel really bad though.. I hope this bug will go away before my body totally bogs down. Time for meds, you think?

water vs wine

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.
.
In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.
.
However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.
.
Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health
.
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit! Hahahahahaha! :p
.
DISCLAIMER: This is just for fun! Lol! =)

Wally's wedding night

At 85 years of age, Wally married Lou Anne, a lovely 25 year old. Since her new husband is so old, Lou Anne decides that after their wedding she and Wally should have separate bedrooms, because she is concerned that her new but aged husband may overexert himself if they spend the entire night together.
.
After the wedding festivities Lou Anne prepares herself for bed and the expected "knock" on the door. Sure enough the knock comes, the door opens and there is Wally, her 85 year old groom, ready for action. They unite as one. All goes well, Wally takes leave of his bride, and she prepares to go to sleep.
.
After a few minutes, Lou Anne hears another knock on her bedroom door, and it's Wally. Again he is ready for more "action". Somewhat surprised, Lou Anne consents for more coupling. Wally says goodnight then leaves. She is set to go to sleep again, but, aha you guessed it --- Wally is back again, rapping on the door, and is as fresh as a 25-year-old, ready for more "action". And, once again they enjoy each other.
.
But as Wally gets set to leave again, his young bride says to him, "I am thoroughly impressed that at your age you can perform so well and so often.  I have been with guys less than a third of your age who were only good once. You are truly a great lover, Wally."
.
Wally, somewhat embarrassed, turns to Lou Anne and says:  "You mean I was here already?"
.
The moral of the story: Seniors have their advantages!!! =) =) =)

i'm sick =(

Woke up this morning with a terrible headache and runny nose. I thought it was just an effect of oversleeping and/or I'm having allergic rhinitis again. Two hours later, that's now, I still don't feel too good. My head is still throbbing, and my nose is still stuffed. Not good =( I hope this is not flu. I really hate to go down with something!

funny video =)

I always love watching innovative commercial ads on TV and in the web. Sometimes I wait for ads as much as I wait for my favorite TV shows to begin. Guess that’s a sign of our times that our ads have become creative enough to warrant their own “following”. Anyway here’s a funny video I got from YouTube. Enjoy! =)

A Keeper

I grew up in the 40's / 50's with practical parents.  A mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it.... then reused it.  She was the original recycle queen, before they had a name for it.  A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones.
.
Their marriage was good; their dreams focused.  Their best friends lived barely a wave away.  I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress.... lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other.  It was the time for fixing things.  A curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress.  Things we keep.
.
It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy.  All that re-fixing, eating, renewing.... I wanted just once to be wasteful.  Waste meant affluence.  Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.
.
But then, my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more.
.
Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away... never to return. So... while we have it.... It's best we love it..And care for it... And fix it when it's broken.... And try to heal it when it's sick.
.
This is true... For marriage.... And old cars... And children with bad report cards...... Dogs and cats with bad hips... And aging parents.... And grandparents.  We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.  Some things we keep.... Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.
.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special... And so, we keep them close!
.
I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper', so I've sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to those people that are "keepers" in your life.  Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

geeky stuff

Oh my! I’m just 57% geek! I thought I’d pass and get at least 75% but no, they won’t give me the satisfaction of bragging to others that I’m a full-blooded geek. Lol! Took this test coz I got a 100% in a geeky internet quiz here and I got the niggling feeling I might really be a full-blooded geek after all. Sad to say, I’m not. Wahhh :p
