I’m a DA!

Nope, I don’t mean Dumbledore’s Army. For me and my boyfriend, DA means “Dragonlance Addict”, lol! Would you believe that when I was in Makati last month, I bought 15 Dragonlance books from Ebay?? Well, actually, Labsie paid up for the books but I was the one who met up with the Ebay sellers =) Anyway, we have over 60 Dragonlance books now and we are currently looking for a nice bookcase (fantasy-themed would be great!) to display our collection.

The problem is, every time we look for bookcases in stores, Labsie has a habit of going over to the audio racks area. Gakk! So, until now, our Dragonlance books are stashed all over his bedroom and mine (in our respective houses, of course). Anybody got an idea how to display our book collection in a creative way? Aside from using a bookcase, I mean. Please do share guys! Thanks! =)

These are the new magazines and my "new" books that my parents brought from Manila. I say "new" coz these are secondhand books from BookMooch, that great site I blogged about that allows you to get rid of your books and get (mooch) books that you like from other people. Great concept huh?? =) You can read my BookMooch entry here. And you can view their site here. Love it!

publish your own book!

When I was young, I was into writing stories and making poems. I’ve often dreamt of writing my own book and publishing it. But as I got older, I had less and less time to pursue my creative endeavors. Also, publishing a book takes quite a lot of your time in peddling it to publishing companies. That is, until the internet (again!) revolutionized the publishing business. Now, it’s possible to self publish with less hassles! If you’re a struggling author whose works are not picked up by major publishing companies, please think about publishing your own works. One company, AuthorHouse, guarantees you that you’ll “maintain creative control of your book.  From editing and proofreading to cover design and page layout; from royalties and distribution to marketing and returnability, you choose what you want for your book.”  Isn’t that great?? Check them out and maybe we’ll see your work in bookshops in the near future! =)

damn HOT!!!

OMG!!! Would you look at Dingdong Dantes?? Damn SCORCHING hot! And that’s just the cover of CosmoMen, when I viewed the centerfolds inside, it was even HOTTER! >=) I’ve been collecting the September issue of Cosmo Philippines since 1999 coz, as I said in a previous post, it’s their “men, men, men!” issue. They do 10 centerfolds of the sexiest men on the land in even sexier poses. Plus they add 69 more yummy dream guys to choose from. Last year, I was a bit disappointed coz their issue was so tame, tsk! But this year, they have more than made up for it! Dingdong’s centerfold was stunning! He was totally nude! No leaves or bamboos to cover him, unlike the other centerfolds. Anyway, if you haven’t got this issue yet, better grab one! This will be a collector’s copy soon enough… =)

HOT reads!!!

.
Finally bought Cosmo Philippines’ September issue!!! Why am I excited about it? Coz every September, it’s the “men, men, men!” issue of Cosmo! They have centerfolds of 10 hot guys and 69 others! What more could a girl ask for?? =) About the centerfolds, I’ll blog about it next time & post some juice photos from it. Hehe! So, tata for now! Gotta get busy reading this wonderful mag from cover to cover. And gurls, do get your own copy! You would love Cosmo!

BookMooch

I love to read books of any kind. I'm always constantly looking for book bargains in bookshops and used-goods stores. I've used online buy&sell portals like davaosale.com and ebay.ph to buy hard-to-find books at cheaper prices. And so far, I've been more than satisfied with my finds! =) But as they say, the best things in life are free. That got me thinking, "Can I get a free book online??" The answer? A big YES!!! At first I just downloaded free ebooks on the internet, some of them pirated. LOL! But I persisted looking for that elusive free physical book. My search led me to BookMooch. And man, was I addicted! =)

BookMooch works like a charity site. You give away your books to earn points and using your points, you can request or mooch a book you want from another user. Nice concept huh?? The site is very simple to use but features-packed unlike other book swapping sites which have become commercialized. And NO, this is not a sponsored post, lol! :p I'm writing this because I truly love their FREE service. I've been in BookMooch for more than a year and received 5 books already. One from SIngapore and four from the Philippines. There was even one Filipino user, Nikki, who has a great offer. Mooch 3 books from her and you'll receive 1 point from her. That's equivalent to 1 free book! So it's like you get free 3 books, and get another for FREE again! Free ~ Free ~ Free, all free! What could be better than that?? So if you're a bookworm, join BookMooch now and let's start mooching! =)
