mac games baby!

In my other blog (Issa’s Dollar Earners), I always post the latest happenings in the world of Apple and Mac. I’m an Apple fangirl but the truth is, I’ve never bought anything made from them. Lol! Also, I haven’t made the switch from PC to Mac. Why? Because my tech-savvy brothers say its hard to find Mac games and applications that will run smoothly. But that was then, when other Mac fanatics did not share their work to other Mac users; now’s a different story. Recently I searched the web, and lo! I see loads of FREE mac games! Yes! So, am I gonna switch now? Hmmm, let me find more free Mac apps then I’d consider the switch more seriously. Abangan! =)

another post about NY real estate!

You must think I'm addicted to anything about New York. Well, I am! Hehe! You see, my boyfriend's aunt lives and works in New York. And we have this dream that someday we'll visit her, and maybe settle down in NY. So, as early as now, we're looking for real estate finds. I even found an up&coming affordable area in Manhattan. And now, I found about Long Island. That's where it is geographically:
.
Longisland
.
And particularly, I found out about Nassau County NY real estate. Nassau County is the one nearest to New York. So if you wanna breathe the NY vibe but cannot afford the lifestyle there, then maybe, Nassau County maybe for you. If you're interested, check out the available homes and land tracts here. Happy house-hunting! =)

#201 post!

Would you believe that I just passed the 200th post mark?? This is actually post #201! Earlier this week I noticed that I was over the 100th post. Today, when I checked my blog stats, I was on the 200th post already. Wow! That only means I am really blogging nonstop, lol! =) And then when I checked my Issa's Dollar Earners blog stats, I had over 1400 unique visitors from 86 countries! Imagine that, 86?? I think I can only name up to 50 countries, hehe! Anyway I'm just happy that I'm doing good with this blogging business. Here's to more visitors and the next 200 posts! =)

what is labiaplasty?

For the readers adverse to reading names of sexual organs, you can stop reading now. This post is a medical one that involves women genitalia.
.
Nearly a week ago, I blogged about labiaplasty. Many were curious what exactly is labiaplasty. In the simplest terms, it is labia reduction surgery. It can either be a labia majora reduction surgery or a labia minora. So why should women undergo reduction surgery of her labia? We all know that cosmetic surgery is one of the most lucrative business there is, people being vain or wanting to improve their self-esteem by cosmesis. Labiaplasty can be likened to it. According to LVRAtlanta.com -- "Realizing one's genital image is part of one's body image, it is easy to understand how many women might feel sexually inhibited if they are not comfortable with appearance of their vagina. A survey (Ackard,2000) of 3,627 women found that women with positive body images reported more sexual activity, initiation of sexual activity, orgasm, sex with lights on, and greater comfort undressing in front of their partners, trying new sexual behaviors and  pleasing their partner."
.
I guess the quote above explains very well the need of other women to have labiaplasty. If you need more information about it, you can visit the website of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of Atlanta whose doctors have since performed labia reduction surgery and laser vaginal rejuvenation surgery in 46 states and 23 countries. A word of warning though, there are graphic images of the female sex organ in the said website.

Airguns!

I was lounging in my brother’s bedroom (the one in Manila) when I noticed his air rifles sitting by the corner. He never got to use it much after he bought it. I think he just played with it one or two times in AirSoft wargames with his work buddies. Such a waste of money! Anyway, I became interested about airguns coz apparently it can kill people despite its nonmetal components. I stumbled on AirGunDepot.com and I loved their comprehensive “encyclopedia” about airguns. They just don’t dump “buy this gun!” in your face but rather, they point you to helpful articles like ".22 caliber pellet guns vs .177 pellet guns: Which caliber is best for you?" Love it when online stores treat you like a reasoning human being, lol! =) So if you need airguns, pellets or stuff like that, pay AirGunDepot.com a visit. You might even learn a thing or two about airguns there just like me!

what emotion are you?

What Emotion Are You?

You are Beauty. You are beautiful, whether it be on the inside, the outside, or both. People are drawn to you as strongly as you are drawn to the beauty in the world around you.

So "beauty" is an emotion now?? Lol! Anyway, I had fun with this quiz. It's true that I'm drawn to the beauty in the world around me. In fact, I always see the beauty around me. Even if a place or person is ugly, I'd always find something beautiful in them... =)

lots of stuff to read!!! =)

Dsc04525
These are the new magazines and my "new" books that my parents brought from Manila. I say "new" coz these are secondhand books from BookMooch, that great site I blogged about that allows you to get rid of your books and get (mooch) books that you like from other people. Great concept huh?? =) You can read my BookMooch entry here. And you can view their site here. Love it!

more about real estate

Yesterday, I blogged about buying an affordable piece of real estate in Manhattan, New York. But it seems not all of you want to live right smack in the center of all happenings in New York. So for all of you who wants a laidback kind of city, but still very modern, I recommend Arizona. Warning though, you might not like its warm weather. As it is, its being called the Valley of the Sun =) Anyway, prime real estate in Arizona is mostly in the Phoenix area. If you want more affordable homes, you can get a piece of Scottsdale real estate. Scottsdale is internationally known as a premiere tourist destination for the upscale traveler, but also home to over 230,000 residents that work and play in urban and suburban communities. Sounds perfect for those who want a “country feel” but still in the within the area of a bustling town!

Bloggerwave!

The list of companies that caters to connecting bloggers and advertisers is growing long each day. And I’m right in the thick of this expanding get-paid-to blog business! The latest company I joined is Bloggerwave. I like the way they setup their website. The JOBS area lists all the jobs available for you, and you don’t have to fight over the opportunities (unlike in some other companies). Anyway I’m looking forward for a fruitful “career” in Bloggerwave. Wanna join me? =)

decorating Papa’s office!

The basement is nearly finished and Papa’s “office” is looking quite beautiful with its wood cabinets and ceiling accents. Not to mention one wall segment just contains windows – the room is awash with sunlight! Nice! =) So now that construction is nearly over, it’s time to shop for office furniture! Of course, the furniture should be made of wood to match the office, and it should look manly and imposing to fit Papa. What do you think of the wood furniture sets in the photos below? Is it classy and manly enough?? =)

GOOGLE's 9th!

Google9thbirthday

They bought Blogger, YouTube, and countless small companies to further their "world domination" :p So what's next for the giant?? Surprise us! Happy birthday to you!

Dating for Seniors

I’ve always thought about my grandparents and other oldies (senior citizens to be politically correct, hehe) as asexual beings. You know, they don’t feel lust or whatever that is that make humans wanna date and seek a mate. My maternal grandmother is a widow for nearly four decades but she never remarried despite having 10 children to care for. Thus, I thought that maybe, when you reach a certain age, dating others does not hold any fascination anymore. That senior dating does not exist in this world.
.
But it seems I was wrong coz there are dating sites out there that caters to seniors! Yup, oldies that date do exist! And dating sites like Dating for Seniors give them a place to meet online. This new dating site offers senior match and other fun dating features found in the usual online dating sites. So, if you have grandfathers or grandmothers still raring to date, and they are internet savvy, point them to Dating for Seniors. Who knows, you might get a new grandparent soon! Hehe!

blogging quiz =)

You Know a Lot About Blogging
You got 6/8 correct! Your not a total blogging geek yet... give it time.
How Much Do You Know About Blogging?
.
Wow! I know a lot about blogging daw, lol! But not yet a total blogging geek.. Hmm, give me one day, hahaha! Anyway I really love BlogThings, from where this quiz and my previous quizzes came. Lots of entertaining stuff out in their website =)

house-hunting in NY

We all know how expensive New York real estate is, especially in Manhattan area. But have you heard of that area in Manhattan called Clinton? Yup, just like the name of the former president Bill Clinton! Clinton, New York is near Times’ Square and the neighborhood has a less-than-desirable reputation before. However, the area has drastically changed over the past years, and is becoming one of the better communities to live in New York. Thanks to the real estate developers who have claimed the area as one with potential to be a great community. So if you’re looking for apartments or other real estate to invest in NY, Clinton neighborhood in Manhattan is the place to look for it. Relatively inexpensive, and with a potential to become the next most sought-after community, your investment in Clinton NY real estate will definitely pay you handsomely in the future. And if you need assistance, you can visit the superb company of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate. They specialize in New York real estate so you could be sure they know their way around the hot spots and trendy yet affordable places. Happy house-hunting!

my parents are here!!!

YAHOO!!! MY parents are back in town! And they got lots of books and mags for me, lol! Yeah, I really am a nerd. I'd rather receive books than clothes (though my mom gives me lots of that too), hehe! Also, they brought some Chinese mooncakes coz apparently, it was the Chinese Moon Festival yesterday. Will definitely blog about the mooncakes in TongueTempations.us =) Anyway, gotta go! I'm off to reading!

Critics Rant!

In this blog, I do occasional movie reviews and even reviews of computers games I tried, especially if I like the movie or game. I almost never do a “real” critic coz I just blog about the movies I liked and not the movies I watched but did not like. Also my reviews are once in a while thing. If you need a comprehensive review of movies, tv shows and games, you can go to CriticsRants.com =)

Critics Rant! movies with attitude” is a movie, tv show and video games review site. You can come the site and talk about your favorites movies and tv shows. You can even win DVDs just by giving your opinion! Or by signing up for the Daily Rant! Newsletter. The DVD Give-Away is done daily, very generous of Critics Rant if I may say so =) So, if you like doing movie or show reviews, be a part of CriticsRant.com – you might even become the favorite critic there! Lol!

search engine optimization and stuff

Before I went into the blogging and Google AdSense business, I never heard of search engine optimization or seo (for short). Apparently, if you want your blog or site to come up in searches, your articles or stuff in the site must be optimized for search engines. That is, if your site is all about oranges then you must mention “oranges” many times but as relevantly as possible. Thus, when your website is crawled by Google, it will index you under the keyword of “oranges”. Hopefully, next time someone searches for “oranges” in Google, your website will come up.
.
Did you understand my explanation loud and clear? Lol! I really can’t explain it very well coz I’m not into its technical details. In fact I just use a search engine optimization software to make the job easier for me. Other websites hire people known as search engine optimizers to do the job of the website optimization. So what’s great if your site comes up during searches? You drive free traffic to your site! And if you sell stuff, they might buy it. After all, they searched for it. Neat huh? That’s why search engine marketing is HOT right now. You can literally make thousands with your website if you optimize it!

i should be a scifi writer! lol

When I was young, about 8-9 years old, I always made up stories in my mind and act it out in real life with whoever who wants to play with me. When I was 10 years old, I discovered the joy of writing. I first wrote mini-love stories and poems, and progressed to writing for my grade school, high school, college and medical school papers. I'm not very active though, I just past stories and articles when inspiration strikes me, or when I'm given a specific task by the editor. But the love for writing never went out of me. And now, I'm writing again. Thanks to internet and blogging!

You Should Be a Science Fiction Writer
Your ideas are very strange, and people often wonder what planet you're from. And while you may have some problems being "normal," you'll have no problems writing sci-fi. Whether it's epic films, important novels, or vivid comics... Your own little universe could leave an important mark on the world!

Time to shop for Christmas decors!

I’m so happy I can shop online now, even without a credit card. All I needed was a Paypal account (courtesy of Cherry Rose; thanks so much Che!) and a means of earning dollars online. Most of my income will go to buying Christmas gifts for my family, and for buying Christmas decors for our home. If you need unique Christmas home decoration ideas, I suggest you search the internet. There is so much amazing stuff out there! In the Christmas section of CollectiblesToday.com alone, I found this stunning Santa Claus figurine with the Christmas village creatively carved in his red suit. Loved it so much! =) That’s the figurine below:

my parents are going home!

Yey! After almost a month, my parents are going home again. They've been staying in Manila for most of the time coz Papa's work is based there. Of course, Mama is with him. As what she always tell us, the place of the wife is at her husband's side, not with the kids. Poor us, huhu! Lol! But no worries coz we're all grownups now. I'm 26 and our youngest is 22. If we were living in the US, we should be living on our own now. As it is, I'm a bum and my youngest bro is still studying. Only my other bro (second child) is working. Fine family we got here huh? Hehe! =) Anyway can't wait for my parents to arrive! I'm sure there'd be lots of pasalubongs, yesss!

Bulimia Nervosa

Hi guys! This will be my second post about health and food. My first post was ages ago, in the month of July, I think. Hehe! Check it under the Health Matters category. Anyway, there are lots of women out there who love to eat but are prevented by eating disorders to enjoy their food like normal people do. You might have heard of binge eating wherein the woman eats a lot of her favorite food then intentionally throws it all up after. The keyword there is "intentional", and this condition is known as bulimia nervosa.
.
In medical terms, bulimia (as it is commonly called) is a psychological condition in which the subject engages in recurrent binge eating followed by intentional purging (via vomiting, inappropriate use of laxatives, diuretics, enemas, and/or excessive physical exercise). There is also a non-purging type of bulimia but it is very rarely found. If you know someone with the symptoms above, please refer them to medical authorities. You might be saving a life. Yes, bulimia is that serious, this is a disease that should be treated by medical means. If you’re in New York or its nearby areas, you can check out Avalon Centers which offers a licensed partial hospitalization program for adolescents (14 and older) and adults diagnosed with eating disorders. Supportive outpatient services are also available, if you opt not to admit the patient.

QUICK BYTES!!!

If you're an avid follower of my blog (is there a follower?? lol), you might have noticed I changed its name. This blog has been with me for more than 2 years and my intention was that it will be a food blog. And it has been so until last month. But recently (I'm sure you've noticed) most of my posts were about wonderful websites and online lifestyle. Food posts were as rare as the blue moon. So, to fix it all up, I transferred my food blog here: TongueTemptations.us (screenshot below) and...
.
Ttnew
.
...I renamed this blog Quick Bytes.. [..for a better online life!] =) The old food posts here will remain but I will also transfer it to the new home of Tongue Temptations (TT). All future foodie posts will be found in the new home of TT. I can't wait to blog about food again! I have sooo much to share with you guys so bookmark TT's new url k?? See you there!

gorgeous pergolas!

OMG! I finally found a real-life pergola! You see, when I was playing the super addicting simulation game The Sims, I had this Chinese-themed pergola. I forgot where I downloaded it from but I adored it so much that I use it in almost all of my Sims’ home, hehe! =) Anyway, time flew and I forgot about the pergola until now…

Yup, that’s a pergola above. Beautiful isn’t it?? It's so sleek! That one is made by AllTexExteriors.com down in Houston. Here are more beautiful Houston pergolas made by this company (click the link). Pergolas add beauty and elegance to your backyard. And there are plenty of colors, end types, and options available in AllTexExteriors.com. They even construct shade covers with beautiful, termite resistant metal or traditional wood. Perfect!

Lindsay Lohan’s rehab affair!

OMG! I can’t believe I’m blogging about Lindsay Lohan! But man, you gotta hand it to this gurl coz it seems that nothing is off-limits to her. Even while in a rehab facility, Hollywood’s poster girl of bad behavior managed to get caught in a scandal, with a married man no less! Lindsay was called a ‘home wrecker’ by a woman who claims that Lindsay slept with her husband while he was in the same drug treatment facility with the 21-year-old actress. The woman was apparently a British heiress and her husband is Tony Allen, a 40-year old musician and father of two. Mr. Allen already denied his wife’s claims and told the media that he and Lindsay are “just friends”. Oh come on! That’s so cliché! Who believes that crap line nowadays huh??
.
Apparently not Mr. Allen’s wife, Stephanie. Coz if you believe the rumors, she threw him out of their home in Savannah, Georgia already. “She has had it,” a source tells the Daily Mirror. “They tried forever to have kids. She went through IVF three times and suffered two miscarriages, and when they finally got two beautiful babies, he hooks up in rehab with a girl half his age.” The source further tattles, “He is trying to live out this rock star fantasy at 40. All Stephanie wanted was for him to be a good husband and father.” If these were all true then shame on you Lindsay! But then, we know how tabloids are, always exaggerating… Hmm!

attention Miami lovers!

Don’t you just love the balmy Miami weather? Plus there’s plenty of sun and beach to keep the blues away! If you’re one of those planning to transfer or retire in Miami, then you better buy your own piece of Miami real estate now! Miami properties are hot! Even celebrities are snapping up vacation homes left and right. As I said, you better act now and look for your piece of Miami heaven on earth…

save our homes

dreaming of Mac…

In my other blog (Issa’s Dollar Earners), I always post the latest happenings in the world of Apple and Mac. I’m an Apple fangirl but the truth is, I’ve never bought anything made from them. Lol! Also, I haven’t made the switch from PC to Mac. Why? Because my tech-savvy brothers say its hard to find Mac games and applications that will run correctly. But that was then, when other Mac fanatics did not share their work to other Mac users; now’s a different story. Recently I searched the web, and lo! I saw loads of free Mac games! Yes! They even have a version of the ubiquitous Windows solitaire, only now it’s called Mac solitaire. Hehe! So, am I gonna switch now? Hmmm, let me find more free Mac games and apps then I’d consider the switch more seriously. Abangan! =)

Christmas gifts for Kada

I always love to window shop online (is there a new term for this??), browsing through products in different online stores and bookmarking them future reference. With Christmas season nearing, my hunt for the best (but affordable) gifts intensified. So far, I’ve planned to give something golf-related to papa and a pink leather bag for mama. No possible gifts yet for my brothers and my boyfriend. As for my close friends, I’ve always given them themed gifts. One Christmas, I gave them bracelets made of colored beads; in their favorite colors of course. The other Christmas, I gave them cutie keychains. This year, I’m planning to give them stunning animal jewelry; different animals to each of course, hehe! But first, I gotta ask them what their fave animal is. I think cats and dogs will top the list so I better hunt for different cat and dog designs now. Be back later! =)

publish your own book!

When I was young, I was into writing stories and making poems. I’ve often dreamt of writing my own book and publishing it. But as I got older, I had less and less time to pursue my creative endeavors. Also, publishing a book takes quite a lot of your time in peddling it to publishing companies. That is, until the internet (again!) revolutionized the publishing business. Now, it’s possible to self publish with less hassles! If you’re a struggling author whose works are not picked up by major publishing companies, please think about publishing your own works. One company, AuthorHouse, guarantees you that you’ll “maintain creative control of your book.  From editing and proofreading to cover design and page layout; from royalties and distribution to marketing and returnability, you choose what you want for your book.”  Isn’t that great?? Check them out and maybe we’ll see your work in bookshops in the near future! =)

another KADA get-together =)

Kada_charo_3some_edited
Just got home from the birthday party of Charo’s mom; she’s the one in the middle in the photo above (click to enlarge some more, hehe). Charo is a friend way back in highschool and she’s based in Singapore right now. She just came over to surprise her mom, ain’t that sweet! =) Anyway I had fun with the girls. It’s always like this when we meet up – catching up with each others’ lives, reminiscing about the past, having girl talk, and lately talking about marriage. Hehe! Anyway, I’ll be posting more pics soon, especially those of Charo’s 2yr old precocious daughter Lianne. Wait till you see her, she’s SOOO adorable!!! =)

telepresence, what??

I never thought I'd live to see the day that real-life virtual 3D technology will be used in day to day activities. Not that it's available now but we are nearing that goal. If you have parents working (or you yourself) in a large company, you might have heard them talking of having a videoconference or  teleconference wherein they'll have a meeting with other employees from all over the country or world. Physical presence does not matter anymore -- video streaming carries the visual while telephony carries the audio. But this is almost passe now coz of the new technology known as TELEPRESENCE from LifeSize.
.
Telepresence, as they say in their website, encourages you to actively collaborate. "While television brings to mind passive entertainment and video conferencing feels like passive communication, high definition telepresence encourages you to actively communicate and collaborate." So how do LifeSize go about it? They start with providing high definition, simple to use video communication. Their technology enable them to scale to larger displays capable of showing people, content and rooms in their actual, real size without loss of quality or resolution. It's almost like virtual 3D yeah?? I wonder what will they cook up next??

labia reconstruction

For the readers adverse to reading names of sexual organs, you can stop reading now. This post is a medical one that involves women genitalia.
.
When I was rotating in OBGyne (I’m a medical doctor, as yet unlicensed), I have assisted in the repair of a woman’s vaginal opening with some labial reconstruction. According to the surgeon I worked with, these types of surgeries are often undergone by women whose sex organs were “damaged” during childbirth, or aging. They often want to get their organs restored to pre-childbirth times. Some do it for cosmetic reasons, while some do it to please their partners.
.
Anyway, I became curious about the numerous procedures that can be done to help these women. One procedure I found out was laser labiaplasty. I also found out about Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of Atlanta whose doctors have since performed labia reduction surgery and laser vaginal rejuvenation surgery in 46 states and 23 countries. If you’re interested, go visit their website. A word of warning though, there are lots of graphic images of the female sex organs in the said website.

Been trying to access blogger sites to no avail. Also, I've been trying to publish a post from my phone to my blogger photoblog account to no avail. Is blogger/blogspot down?? They started with 5 posts then reduced it to 2, and now it's back up to 3! YEY! Its temporary til the end of the month, but still it means extra $$$! =)

TiVo!

I’m sure you’ve heard of Tivo, that awesome piece of machine that automatically finds and digitally records all of your favorite shows, every time they're on If you haven’t got one, this Christmas season is the best time to buy one at AbtElectronics.com =) This retailer of quality consumer electronics and appliances is different from other online retailers coz they offer you the ability to shop for all your appliance and electronic product needs in one online store. No need to jump from one online store to another. Also they offer FREE tech support. Yup, you read that right, free! And we all love freebies don’t we? Hehe! If you have time, do browse their site. They’ve got loads of appliances and electronics at reasonable prices. Happy shopping! =)

damn HOT!!!

OMG!!! Would you look at Dingdong Dantes?? Damn SCORCHING hot! And that’s just the cover of CosmoMen, when I viewed the centerfolds inside, it was even HOTTER! >=) I’ve been collecting the September issue of Cosmo Philippines since 1999 coz, as I said in a previous post, it’s their “men, men, men!” issue. They do 10 centerfolds of the sexiest men on the land in even sexier poses. Plus they add 69 more yummy dream guys to choose from. Last year, I was a bit disappointed coz their issue was so tame, tsk! But this year, they have more than made up for it! Dingdong’s centerfold was stunning! He was totally nude! No leaves or bamboos to cover him, unlike the other centerfolds. Anyway, if you haven’t got this issue yet, better grab one! This will be a collector’s copy soon enough… =)

wanna have your own logo?

Aside from wanting to have my own domain name for Tongue Temptations, I want to have my own logo. I want something food-based with lots of pink, hehe! As much as I want to design my own logo, I know I’m not artistic enough to pull it off. But I’m glad I found a company that does online logo designs. They offer to design three custom logos for $289 with the guarantee that they will refine it until you are 100% satisfied. Great for picky customers, lol! Anyway, here’s what I found in their site that’s great for me –--
.

..
Melissa is my name, I love pink, and this blog is all about food! Can they combine the three logos above and give me a stunning one for Tongue Temptations?? =)

HOT reads!!!

.
Finally bought Cosmo Philippines’ September issue!!! Why am I excited about it? Coz every September, it’s the “men, men, men!” issue of Cosmo! They have centerfolds of 10 hot guys and 69 others! What more could a girl ask for?? =) About the centerfolds, I’ll blog about it next time & post some juice photos from it. Hehe! So, tata for now! Gotta get busy reading this wonderful mag from cover to cover. And gurls, do get your own copy! You would love Cosmo!

succession and stuff

Hey guys! I just watched Rogue Assassin with Jet Li and John Statham, and the movie rocks! The script is great with two twists at the ending. It involves the FBI, Japanese Yakuza and Chinese Triads so expect lots of stunning action scenes! =) Anyway, while watching the movie, I noticed that both the Japs and Chinese have this traditional succession thingy going on. The bosses appointed their own sons and daughters to succeed them in the event of their death. And this kind of practice is also pervasive in their real-life businesses.
.
If you go to Japan or China, you'll find that companies are managed by generations of the same family. Nothing really wrong with that except if you have black sheep or a bad apple in the family (and there is always one!). Since you're bound by culture to let your children succeed you, the bad apple sometimes takes control of the company over an obviously better non-family employee. Unfair life huh? Anyway, if you don't like to have a problem in your company on who to promote first or who will succeed you, better use a succession planning software. Yes, there is a software that does that and its called eSuccession. The software was designed to let companies implement succession planning in a very practical and staged approach. Now, there'd be no talk of favoritism! =)

it's in the brand!

Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Guess Jeans, Apple’s iPod, Prius, Victoria’s Secret… Sounds familiar? More than familiar I bet. I mean, who wouldn’t know these brands?? They’re practically globally known! Yep, brands, that’s how businesses prosper -- through the consumer’s brand recall and their trust for that brand. So you let me ask you, do you have your own business wherein you market a product or a service? Do you market them under your own brand? If yes, do you know how strong is your brand? Have you tried to measure the strength of your brand? No? Well, you’re in luck because a branding company is out to help you!

Brand Identity Guru Inc., BIG for short, is a branding agency that sees your product’s BIG Picture. They determine how wide the gap is between your brand identity and brand image. BIG will be able to assess your brand’s might in the market. That way, you’d be able to improve your weaknesses and perk up your brand. Your business will eventually prosper and who knows, your product brand might be the next Google or McDonald’s! Sounds like wishful thinking? Well, we all start at the bottom, and with hard work and a little help from experts, we can achieve any goal we want for our brand. So, if I were you, go try BIG out! They'll apply sophisticated research and analysis techniques to build an action plan unique to your product's branding, its challenges and goals. Sounds great to me! Success here we come! =)

attention jetsetters!

Are you suffering from wanderlust? Feeling the need to soar and travel around the world? But afraid of facing the booking problems associated with traveling? Well, we all know how hard it is to book a flight, reserve a hotel, rent a car, etc, etc in a tourist destination. Sure, travel agencies can do these jobs but they charge exorbitant fees for their services. That’s just ok if you’re mega-rich but what about the rest of us? We want decent flights and hotel rooms but at affordable rates. Enter the world wide web. Most backpackers (those who travel on shoestring budget) knew that ONLINE booking with hotels will get you the cheapest deals anywhere. But finding legitimate websites that offer these services prove to be daunting to travelers new to booking online. Well guys, fret no more coz HotelReservations.com is here!

.

.
The greatest thing in this website is that it offers more than hotel reservations despite their site’s name. They offer packages with airplane flights, car rentals, even tours! How cool is that?? You could even choose the combination you want while searching for deals, i.e. flights and tours only or car rental and resort only, etc. The possibilities are endless! I tried the site and compared the prices they quoted for my searches against other travel sites, and boy, were they competitive! Most of their price quotes were cheaper; some were at par with the other sites. But still, HotelReservations.com doesn’t stop there, they also offer discounts on top of their cheap prices. And that applies to all worldwide destinations. Yes my dears, this site is not limited to the US or Europe, but worldwide! I tell you, this site is really great. So the next time you are traveling and want hotel discounts, or much more than that, use their website first for better and cheaper deals-- okay?? =)

my college sports

Yeah I know, this is my third college post within the day. Lol! And yes, I do play sports – if required that is. Hehe! =) Our Physical Education (PE) class in college is very cool. We were able to able to choose what PE courses to take after taking the required PE1 and PE2, which are mostly lectures. Anyway, the choices ranged from swimming to dancing (Jazz, Folkdance, Tap dancing, etc) to numerous sports (volleyball, badminton, soccer, etc). I don’t like swimming coz I don’t like to have sunburn and the smell of chlorine on me during weekends. I can’t dance to save my life so dancing was out. Though I was forced to take Folk dancing (Tinikling) one semester coz that’s the only PE class that fit into my schedule. In fairness, I passed with flying colors, hehe! =) But that PE class wasn’t the most memorable for me – it was when I took up soccer in my third year.
.
I enjoyed playing soccer so much coz of its physical aspect. Imagine running back and forth between the two soccer goals separated by almost 500m of green grass (we had a smaller field). Add to that the fact you have to guard the ball and tried to score. I tell you, if there’s one thing that’d workout your whole body, it would be soccer! Man, after each session, my sides and legs would be aching from exertion. And to top everything, we still have Biochem classes after! My PE playmates would enter the class stinking with sweat and with haggard faces. Lol! But playing soccer was definitely, absolutely worth it!

blog updates! =)

You might have noticed I posted some digiscrapz. They can also be seen in my other blogs: Issa's Dollar Earners and yes, it's ME! Also, I really won Kitty's Haven's contest! Kitty emailed me to confirm the winning. Yes!! So expect a change of url for this blog of mine in the near future. Me, very happy!! Hehe! =)
.
On other real-life news, another high school friend is back in Davao! She's living in Singapore now and just came back to surprise her mother on her birthday. How sweet is that?? Hi Cha! See you on Sunday! =)

still on college life :p

Earlier I posted about my college days, and I’m still on a reminiscing mood. Before I got into my college of choice, I had to take an entrance exam. No other stuff to pass, no interviews. Just pass the entrance exam and you’re in! My brother’s situation was different though. Aside from passing the entrance exam, he had to make admission essays. We often joked that his school of choice wants to make sure he speaks and writes in good English grammar. Luckily my brother passed the school’s “stringent” entrance requirements =) Anyway, if you need help writing your application essays, you can visit AdmissionEssays. They do college, MBA and medical school applications. Good luck! =)

it's love! =)

Another scrap! Gotta upload my scrapZ coz my 20gb pentium3 laptop is running out of space, hehe! Have to get a new one na talaga, my laptop is archaic! Imagine, it's still pentium3! *shakes head* Anyway, since I'm uploading my scraps, might as well share the good ones with you guys =) The scrap above is with my boyfriend Labsie, one of the gazillions we have since 2005. Hehe! I used a super gorgeous premade template from ScrapCarli and added our photos, green glitter alphabets from Oscraps, and valentine glitter stuff from LaWanna Desjardin -- and voila! We got LOVEscrap beybeh! =) Click to enlarge and appreciate the stunning glitter details.

college days..

Last night, a college friend of mine visited our home. We chatted up about the latest in our lives (she’s a teacher, I’m a bum), and we also got into reminiscing our college years. We were never really close during college (she’s in Ecology, I’m into Cell Biology) so I was quite surprised that we shared the same horrendous experiences when it came to our academic lives. Hehe! As with me, my college friend was always rushing to meet deadlines of numerous term papers and projects. She was constantly harassed by field works and lab experiments. I totally feel for her! BS Biology in UPMin is one busy course! And we have no one to help us with our papers coz everyone is busy too. Students these days are quite lucky coz there are online companies that creates custom research papers, term papers, essays, theses, and book reports like PaperMasters. Man, I was born too early! Lol! Anyway, I checked out PaperMasters and they guarantee you that their products are plagiarism free and written by native English speakers. Sounds good to me! So if you’re in a tight deadline schedule, visit PaperMasters. They might be able to help you =)

kada! =)

Here are my good friends in our get-togethers early September. Jinky (in red), Chin (in white), Ger (male in red) and JB (in blue) are my friends way back from high school. We each live our separate lives but we know whatever happens, we'll always have each other. BERKS forever! Este, kada pala! Hehe! =) Click to enlarge and to appreciate our faces, lol!
.
The premade cutie pink template is from AntJe's Scrap Corner. Love it! And best of all, it's FREE! =) So if you're into digital scrapbooking, go to her site. Lots of good stuff there! A bit of warning: the site is in German. Hehe!

ready for Halloween??

I know there’s still more than a month before Halloween rolls in, but like Christmas, there’s this shopping rush that comes along with it. So will you until the last minute to buy the coolest halloween costume and candies for trick or treat?? Tsk, bad mommy! Lol! Anyway, you shouldn’t wait til the last minute! Right now, you should start planning what your kids will wear for Halloween, or ask them what they want. Kids these days have lots of creative costume ideas that swirl in their minds. You can learn a thing or two from them. Yeah, I know, we all learn from kids =)
.
When I was young, we didn’t have trick or treat and Halloween parties. Halloween used to be a solemn time for adults and a “scary” time for children. And we don’t even call it Halloween! We called it “bisperas sa araw ng mga santo”. That translates to “the day before All Saints’ Day”. But due to the rapid westernization of our country,
